Nancy Ivers is a New York based artist best known for her abstract oil paintings. Her art finds its genesis in a deep commitment to the meaning of humanity. Religion, nature, mysticism, and the sacredness of the human encounter all serve as important sources of inspiration. Traditional compositional elements and forms are evident but abstracted and enhanced using color and brush stroke to create a powerful sense of movement and dynamic flow. Her work has appeared in multiple solo and group exhibitions, including the Elaine Benson Gallery, Fundt Gallery, Whitehall Gallery, Mark Murray Fine Art, Pen + Brush Gallery, Tribeca Art Gallery, Penthouse Gallery, and the Macy Gallery at Columbia University.
