UNDO's "Sun Blessings and Peace Flags" series arose from the artist's need to feel and, above all, to share hope. The recurrent use of the sun, in particular the rising sun, led him to study solar cults. He explains of the series: "Since the beginning of civilization, human beings have recognized the benefits and the strength of the elements and the celestial objects that surround us. Through rituals and sacrifices we have sought to benefit from it. The Sun, symbolically speaking, represents knowledge, protection, reasoning, enlightenment, a spiritual awakening. With the Sun as main character, this series' images attempt to evoke that moment of awakening, even if it is to what Slavoj Zizek calls 'the desert of the Real.'"
